María del Carmen Barcia Zequeira

She is Doctor in Philosophy and Arts (1964), PhD in Historic Sciences (1985), Full Professor (1976) and Senior Researcher (1988).
Currently Barcia Zequeira works as Full Professor of the Philosophy and History Faculty, University of Havana. She is also Academic of Merit of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (ACC); Member of the Latin American and the Caribbean History Society (ADHILAC); Member of the National Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC); Consultant to the “House of Africa” (Cuba); Member of the Scientific Council of the “Fernando Ortíz” Foundation (Cuba); Vice-president of the National Examining Board for awarding scientific degrees (Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba); Member of the Association of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC); Member of the editorial board of the “Universidad de la Habana” journal (Cuba); Member of the advisory staff of Ciencias Sociales Publishing House (Cuba); Member of the advisory staff of the "Debates Americanos" journal (Cuba); Member of the Scientific Council of the University of Havana; Member of the Scientific Council of the National Archive of Cuba; Member of the Scientific Council of “Fernando Ortíz” Foundation, among others.
