Osvaldo Martínez Martínez

Economist. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Havana. Author of books and numerous articles on subjects of World Economy. Member of the Cuban Parliament and current Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the Parliament. Panel member of the United Nations on the issue of Right to Development (1994). Advisory Cuban delegations to the General Assembly of the United Nations Conference of Non-Aligned Summit and Iberoamerican Summit Conference. He represented Cuba at the Economic and Financial Committee (2nd. Commission of the United Nations General Assembly (1974-1979). He was also representative of Cuba to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). 1976. Representative of Cuba Board of the Centre in the South. Geneva. Director, Center for Research on the World Economy (CIEM) since its founding. 1999 National Prize of Economy of the Republic of Cuba. Both he and his collective labor ICES hold the Carlos J . Finlay. They stand in their scientific research work and publications on the cyclical crises of the capitalist system and the need for Latin America to advance the ALBA and UNASUR, not only has a target to open the way to integration, but also as a defensive measure of establishing regional ties to defend ourselves against the crisis. It is a member of the Superior Council of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO).
