Resumen
He was born on 1947 in Sudan and he has a PhD. in Physical Sciences from the University of Oxford, UK in 1974. He is currently Executive Director of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), President of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), General Secretary of the Third World Network of Scientific Organizations (TWNSO), and member of several other committees and scientific world organizations. He was awarded with the Scientific Merit’s Order of Brazil. He is also Honorary Member of the Islamic Academy of Sciences and the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences. He is corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba since 2000.
