Resumen
Miguel Barnet Lanza is writer, ethnologist and poet. He has a PhD in Historical Sciences (1997) and a Master Degree in Contemporary History (1996). He is Founder and President of the Fernando Ortiz Foundation; Founder and President of the National Union of Writers and Artists from Cuba (UNEAC); Member of the UNESCO’s Executive Council; Member of the Honorary Council of the Anthropological Sciences Faculty of the Autonomous University of Yucatan and Director of the “Catauro” Cuban journal of anthropology. He was one of the founders of the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba. One of the most successful Cuban writers and his work has been translated into several languages
