Chemistry-Biology, Guatemala. She graduated from the University of San Carlos, 1969. MSc in Toxicology, University of Sevilla, Spain, 2005. Expert in chemical and physical analysis in general, thin layer chromatography, column, gas and liquid mass spectrometry, spectrophotometric and volumetric methods. She has experience in long-data scientific and technological research, having an outstanding work as a researcher and author of several prizes won with international organizations. She is also associate researcher in numerous research projects in the Applied Research Division ICAITI. She has 83 publications (as author and co-author) in books and in national and international magazines. She has been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences. Member of the Academy of Sciences and the Organization of Scientific Women in the Third World, she is also a founding member of the Association of Scientific Women in her country, member of the College of Pharmacists and Chemists of Guatemala where she has been Secretary of the Board, she was Vice President Honor Tribunal Member from 2002-2004. She was Vice President of the Commission on Quality of the National Council of Science and Technology, and currently she is the Secretary of the Board of the Scientific Community in the Caribbean for the period 2008-2012 and a member of the Executive Committee of the Inter-American Academies Networks (IANAS) for the term 2008-2013. She is also the current President of the Academy of Physical and Natural Sciences of Guatemala and has maintained for many years a very close and coordinated work with the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) in international homologous mechanisms.
