Juan Valentín Lorenzo Ginori

He is graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1969 in the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV), Cuba; Master in Telecommunications Engineering at the Higher Polytechnic Institute José A. Echeverría, Havana, 1975 and Doctor of Technical Sciences in UCLV, Cuba, in 1982. He is Consultant Professor of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering UCLV, and is also Researcher. He has held during his working life different leadership positions in the UCLV.
He is vice president of the State Audit Scientific Degrees in Telecommunications and Electronics. He has been visiting researcher at several foreign universities and has been and is Director of major projects of international cooperation in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
He received in 2008 the Order Frank País and in 2004 the Order Carlos J. Finlay, both awarded by the State Council of the Republic of Cuba. He received in 1993 and 2003, the special award from Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba for their results in scientific work. It was part of the collective of authors who received the Award of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba in 2003 and 2008, the first of them as principal author. He is Member of the Cuban Society of Bioengineering, Senior Member of IEEE and Member of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.
