Arturo Torrecillas Melendreras

He is graduated of Chemical Sciences from the University of Murcia, PhD in Chemical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He works as Professor of the Higher Council of Scientific Research (Spain), Associate Full Professor of the Technical University of Cartagena (Spain), but develops his main activity as Head of the Irrigation Department, at the Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada de Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), (Spain). Dr. Torrecillas Melendreras is a well known specialist in irrigation, who has developed scientific collaboration with our country, mainly through professional training of Cuban researchers and facilitating the contact among Cuban and Spanish scientific institutions. Dr. Torrecillas Melendreras has managed training courses in Spain for 15 Cuban researchers, and has given several lectures in Cuba. He has also managed 6 research projects, funded by the Scientific Collaboration Agreement between Cuba and the Higher Scientific Council of Spain. He has published more than 16 articles with Cuban researchers in higher impact scientific journals. He also has made donations and subsidized scientific meetings in Cuba. Dr. Torrecillas Melendreras is Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba since February 2008.
