He is graduated in Economics (University of Havana, 1969) and has a PhD in Economic Sciences (University of Havana, 1978).
Rodríguez García is also Senior Researcher, Full Professor and Merit professor. Currently he works as Advisor to the Cuban Government on Economics. He is also Academic of Merit of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (ACC) and Member of the Scientific Council of the ”Raúl Roa Kourí” Institute of Foreign Affairs; among other organizations.
Along his professional career Rodríguez García has carried out more than 50 researches; has published 14 books and more than 50 papers in national and international journals; has taken part in more than 80 national and international scientific meetings, workshops and conferences; and has given lectures in Universities of Cuba, Mexico, United States, France, United Kingdom, Sweden, Brazil, Nicaragua and the former Soviet Union, among others. Because of the excellence of his scientific work he has also been granted with the “Carlos J. Finlay” Order (2000, Cuba) and the National Award of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba to the best scientific and technical work (1992, Cuba); among others.
