Josefina López Hurtado

Graduate in Pedagogy. She has a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences (1955), a PhD in Psychological Sciences (1967). She is also Senior and Merit Researcher. López Hurtado is Honorary Member of the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba (APC); Permanent Collaborator of the Latin American Center for preschool teaching and of the Preschool Department of the “Enrique J. Varona” Higher Pedagogical Institute. She has dedicated more than 40 years to Education and has carried out different functions: teacher; university professor; advisor to Havana City provincial education institutions; advisor to Ministry of Education of Cuba and to other educational institutions, related to elaboration of study plans and methodological orientations. Her research field includes pedagogic and psychological researches on children's development in preschool ages and primary education. López Hurtado has published more than 40 papers in national and international journals. She has also published several text books on psychology for the teacher's training, and has developed working notebooks and methodological orientations for teaching of preschool age children, among others. López Hurtado has taken part in more than 30 national and international meetings on psychology and pedagogy as lecturer, member of round-tables, special conferences, workshops and symposia, referred essentially to thematic of the development and teaching of preschool age and primary education children.
