Degree on Physics, Master of Science in Physics, PhD in Physics and Mathematics. She is associate Senior Professor, Senior Researcher. She was Director of Science at the Ministry of Science Technology and Environment (CITMA) from 2002-2010. Member of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) since 2008. Member of the Organization of Women Scientists in the Third World (TWOWS) and Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean from 1999 to 2005. Member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), 1996 to 2001. Member of the Caribbean Academy of Sciences. Board member of the Cuban Society of Mathematics and Computer Science. President of the Scientific Women Committee of the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC) and the Cuban Chapter of TWOWS. Focal point for Cuba in the Sciences Education Groups and of women for sciences at the Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences. She is the current Secretary of the ACC and heads the Group of Science Promotion. Working specialty: Numerical analysis of differential equations.
